Biography

The Darkspade is my first ever e-Fed character made up in 1998. I have made so many characters I have lost count. The Darkspade was built for my own personal e-Fed: CreatureWrestling. To help understand this character is to first understand the historic overview of the universe of CreatureWrestling... which is still ongoing today and its chapters written. You may read an "overview" of a lot of things covered here: CW HISTORY

The Mythos of CreatureWrestling: Overview

This story is an expansive, gothic supernatural saga that blends wrestling drama with cosmic horror, family tragedy, and power struggles across multiple dimensions.

At its core, CreatureWrestling begins when Alexander Arcane forms a dark pact with the ancient entity Kizmat, using a wrestling promotion as a front to gather and feed on supernatural beings. What starts as a power grab quickly spirals into chaos, as factions rise, betrayals unfold, and hidden agendas surface. The revelation of deeper forces—like Mortismere, Queen Lilith, and the manipulative Seer—shows that the wrestling world is merely a stage for much larger, ancient conflicts.

As the narrative progresses, the story evolves into a battle over control of reality itself. Central to this are the Trinity Powers (Unholy Darkness, Holy Darkness, Holy Light) and mystical artifacts like the Crystals of Legend and the Gates of The Apocalypse (with the inner gates of Righteousness, Wickedness, and Balance). Characters such as Darkspade, Charon, and Kizmat undergo major transformations, shifting between heroism and corruption as they confront their pasts, destinies, and each other.

The rise of The Dark Sincentius marks a turning point, introducing an existential threat aimed at eradicating all life. This leads to the “Virus Saga,” where alliances fracture, identities are revealed, and reality becomes unstable. Death, resurrection, cloning, and alternate timelines blur the line between mortal and immortal, culminating in massive battles that span Earth, Neo-Earth, and supernatural realms.

Meanwhile, the Arcane family’s internal conflicts—especially between Alexander and Richard — mirror the broader chaos, with power constantly changing hands through manipulation, murder, and deception. Organizations rise and fall (CWE, MWE, NSA), reflecting the instability of both the business and supernatural worlds.

The story ultimately expands into a cosmic mythology involving the Gates of Apocalypse, the mysterious Employer, and the revelation of the Children of Destiny. The emergence of Cadmus and Hra’gad—twin forces tied to fate, destruction, and creation—redefines the stakes. Time itself is altered, revealing that many events were manipulated from the very beginning.

In the end, after countless wars, betrayals, and apocalyptic threats, the world is left fractured and uncertain. Power is never truly destroyed—only transferred. With Cadmus taking control of the wrestling empire and hints that a greater force (The Employer) has orchestrated everything, the story closes on an ominous note:

The cycle of manipulation, destiny, and conflict is far from over.

(OOC: Darkspade was originally built at my other eFed as a "Supernatural" wrestler- a literal vampire. For the sake of SHOOT, Darkspade has transversed seemingly from a multi-verse rift when he first arrived. There is a strong hint of his powers of the Unholy Darkness but it is unclear that this is moreso a gimmick, parlor tricks, or the real thing).

The promos that are seen are intended to be different they hint at his mental state, cryptic real-life videos, and the way they are presented reflects his obsession with taking "souls" (perhaps as fuel for something?

Darkspade's true name is Spade Deathen (he changed his last name from "of Death" for his distain for his family). In CreatureWrestling he is the Guardian of Balance... long long long story... if you REALLY want to read a 'summary' of everything then look here: https://creaturewrestling.com/history/

Brief History

Darkspade stands as one of the original pillars that forged Creature Wrestling’s infamy. A multi-time champion with a storied, ruthless career, he doesn’t just meet challenges—he summons them, drawing opponents into his orbit before dismantling them. Even before the bell sounds, he exerts psychological dominance, using elaborate, unsettling entrances to fracture his opponents’ composure.

His entrance video is a calculated descent into his past and psyche. It revisits the death of his wife, Julie—her locket a haunting symbol—interwoven with the disruptive presence of Charon #2. The narrative suggests that Dark Sincentius lured Julie into the woods to be killed, though the darker truth lingers beneath: Darkspade himself committed the act while under Sincentius’s control. The latter half of the video plunges deeper into his fractured mind and insatiable desire for destruction, punctuated by his chilling mantra: “I am the darkest hour—it strikes three.” In the ring, that phrase becomes prophecy—the count of three sealing his opponent’s fate.

A supernatural “CreatureWrestler,” Darkspade is an energy vampire who feeds on fear itself, amplifying the terror he so carefully cultivates. He descends from one of the oldest vampire bloodlines—the Death Family—alongside his siblings Damien Death and the late Serin Death. His adopted brother, Eddie, ultimately betrayed the family, aiding Mortismere in Serin’s murder before evolving into the entity now known as Red Spyder.

Spade Deathen - Sundered into Three Forms

Originally known as “Spade of Death,” Darkspade’s transformation began with his abduction by Mortismere, who indoctrinated him in the Unholy Dark Arts. This immersion—and eventual acceptance—of the Unholy Darkness did more than corrupt him; it shattered his existence into three distinct, coexisting manifestations.

Darkspade became the physical vessel—the body that endures and wages war in the ring. The Unholy Knight of Darkness emerged as the embodiment of his soul: a relentless, abyss-bound entity capable of assuming physical form by forging armor from its surroundings. Within that living armor resides Spade Deathen’s consciousness—his mind, will, and a reservoir of suppressed, volatile emotion trapped beneath layers of conjured steel and shadow.

Meanwhile, Darkgeist manifested as his spirit—a spectral echo tethered between realms. Acting as a fragile conduit between body and soul, Darkgeist exists in a state of perpetual instability, its connection corrupted by the ever-encroaching influence of the Void—another name for the Unholy Darkness itself.

There are rare methods to restore Spade Deathen into a singular being through the inverse force known as Holy Darkness. However, such reunification is violently unstable. The process overwhelms his psyche, often driving him to madness, and cannot be sustained for long—inevitably forcing his essence to fracture once more.

His daughter, Charon of Death, has devoted herself to solving this curse. Combining advanced technological mastery with the guidance of Brandon—an adept practitioner of Holy Darkness—she has managed to partially regulate the Unholy Darkness within him. While a permanent solution remains elusive, their efforts have at least carved out a fragile equilibrium, allowing Darkspade to retain moments of clarity, control, and something resembling balance.

The Darkspade's Descent

Darkspade’s descent was sealed when he became the host of an ancient entity known as “The Dark Sincentius”—a primordial force embedded within the Death Family’s bloodline for eons, born of a forbidden pact with the first Charon Death. This entity lay dormant, waiting for the fulfillment of a chilling prophecy: at the final stroke of midnight, two twins of immense power would rise.

Mistaking Spade and his brother Damien as the prophesied pair, Sincentius began its calculated invasion of Spade’s mind. What followed was not mere influence, but a relentless psychological siege—one that eroded Spade’s will and blurred the line between control and possession. Under Sincentius’ dominion, Spade was driven to commit an unforgivable act: the murder of his wife, Julie, a tragedy that would forever stain his legacy and bind him more deeply to the darkness consuming him.

The Unholy Cardinal

This is a form that The Darkspade can invoke, tapping into all his manifestations and borrowing power from them to heighten his innate abilities overall. A pseudo-balance per se- however, there are grave consequences as The Unholy Darkness eats each manifestation away as he is divined deeper and deeper into the "void."

The first mentioning of "The Unholy Cardinal" was circa 2002. The best I can find when this all started was during a match here: From the darkness I rise again... - Apr 04, 2002 Originally, Darkspade was called "The Unholy Minister" and I believe that at one point I upgraded him as a rank to Cardinal when he splintered off from servicing Lord Mortismere.

Here are notable RPs from the deep past regarding The Unholy Cardinal:

The Shoot Project

Darkspade's world was facing a catastrophic event: The Creature Wars. In sum, the Employer (an omniscient being revealed itself to be his grandchild: Angel of Death) removed the heart out of the Lord of Darkness: The Undertaker, within an ethereal realm inside of the urn, which caused the Creatures of the Night to break the ancient truce with themselves and with the mortals. The Employer did this on purpose because she did not have the direct ability to change the fate of her own children, who were forever destined to die. To stop their demise, the Creature Wars was produced to prompt Darkspade to make a choice: to summon his youngest daughter, The Oracle, and kill her, so that this will allow The Employer to assume the Oracle's powers to change the fate of her children- otherwise, the Creature Wars will continue for good- ravaging the land and destroying everything. The Darkspade refused to submit to The Employer's vile plan.

As the Creature Wars lingered, The Darkspade locked himself in his room and was in a perpetual state of depression- not only because of the burden placed on his head, but also the fact that he could not compete in a wrestling ring. Then one of the Employer's former employee, and sage, Obed Marsh found a silver mirror in the basement of the Death Family estate- it was a portal thought to other realms used by the Death Family ancestors- Obed Marsh presented the silver mirror to Darkspade in hopes that he would escape his tomb and torment at least to a point which Darkspade could set his mind aside from all of the troubles of the world. This worked!! The Darkspade immediately used the silver mirror and materialized in an alternative dimension where the hot and popular wrestling promotion, The SHOOT Project, attracted The Unholy One to compete in.

The Darkspade's arrival was at an audition for potential open contracts. Upon arrival, The Unholy One turned heads immediately- from his awe-inspiring presence, his eerie entrance, and cryptic words- showcasing his insane mind and intended agenda to 'take souls' and capture the top titles along the way. At first, transversing into the world of The SHOOT Project did not seem to be affecting him aside from exciting Darkspade out of his depression- his own, oldest daughter, Charon of Death, had no objections to traveling into this realm, even. And so, The Darkspade freely entered and exited the alternative world. Still, with each passing, each moment through the silver mirror made The Darkspade more addicted to coming, and he was regressing in his own control and management of The Unholy Darkness.

What Charon did not see was what her father was doing in the SHOOT Project world- her father resorted back to his earlier tactics when he used to run The Unholy Ministry and attacked the psyche of his opponents such that he was causing serious harm. The turning point came when a young wrestler named Ricky Tenet called Darkspade an "oogie boogie" at his father's prompting. This set off a chain of events which then led to The Darkspade using mind games in the form of cryptic videos- and supernatural events such as Ricky being transported to a desolate gym. Eventually, The Darkspade confessed that this was all a part of his grand plan to feed on Ricky's mind- and that he was his sacrificial sheep/project to subject Ricky to the effects of The Unholy Darkness. The Darkspade humiliated Ricky on several occasions during matches won, with each encounter further attacking Ricky through cryptic video messages. The mind games did not stop with Ricky either- The Darkspade attacked others such as Scottie Barnes and Chance Kelser, in which The Darkspade re-defined what darkness meant.

In the meantime, The Darkspade was seriously losing his grip on reality, and this was evident more and more to Charon. Charon eventually stole the silver mirror and hid it for studying at her Technocracy. However, a spiritual apparition in the form of a baby Ricky manifested itself, visible only to Darkspade. It led Darkspade into an attic, where in which then transported into the SHOOT Project world without the apparent need of the Silver Mirror.

(more to come)

Physical Appearance Descriptor

Darkspade appears to be in his late 30s (but, in actuality, he is over a hundred years old), caucasian. Medium build and intensely powerful. His hair is a dark silvery shade (this is due to his being ripped apart and thus any saturated hue is eliminated). Darkspade has a tattoo of a "spade" on his upper back. It depicts a scene where flocks of deathly birds collapse into the "spade" symbol, which contains a hint of a skull in the center.

His manner is very confident, cold, calculated, and mysterious. When necessary, he can explode and overwhelm his opponent physically- he tends not to care what happens to his body when inflicting or receiving damage. On the mic: The Darkspade chooses his words carefully and tends to speak in terms of morbid thoughts and destroying his opponents. Darkspade is obsessed with obtaining the top title of any organization.

Although that said, Darkspade is a face and a heel, and is respected by his peers. In the past, Darkspade commanded a faction that nearly took over the CreatureWrestling Federation until DX prevented it, but then, Darkspade was controlled by Mortismere (a higher power). There are numerous parallels with Darkspade's fascination with The Undertaker, but Darkspade's agenda is typically ensuring that there is controlled chaos in and out of the ring.

Darkspade willingly accepted the Unholy Darkness which inevitably caused him to be separated into 3 parts. The part which interacts with the living and in the ring is the Body of Spade Deathen: Darkspade. The part is regarded as the consciousness of Spade Deathen- however, the absence of his soul and spirit causes Darkspade to grow insane at times and unpredictable.

For creature wrestling fights: Darkspade is well known for his unmatched ability to use psychological attacks typically starting from even his ring entrance! Often the entire arena is attacked by the presence of The Unholy Darkness which is at Spade's command. Darkspade is obsessed with his motto: The Darkest Hour Strikes Three... symbolizing that the end is near for his opponent and there is no escape from their untimely demise.

Even though Darkspade is considered a medium heavyweight wrestler at 6' 5"- his greatest ability is using his own body as a deadly device of destruction. Spade simply will use everything in his arsenal to hurt and destroy his opponent--- even using his own body to do it! So, Spade's style is very hardcore, very brutal and surprisingly very technical. A mixture of high flying and orthodox power moves completes the picture of Spade's style.

Another unique trait to Spade is his ability of longevity in the ring. Because of his separation, Spade has a very high threshold for pain. Even if Spade is pummeled to death, if giving enough time to recover- Spade can develop a second wind and come at his opponent with a vicious streak.

Image
Weaknesses: Spade's body can only sustain so much punishment before slowing down. Many wrestlers can knock Spade down- but they need to keep attacking him and not allow him to recover. Another determining factor is that Darkspade is not the perfect high flier- he is a hardcore ring tactician. Spade has a weakness for high flying moves and moves which high velocities. Surprisingly, Spade can survive many powerhouse moves but not too many in session.

Ring Attire:
Outside of the ring and walking down to it, Darkspade sports a dark ceremonial cape reminiscent of his days as the leader of The Unholy Ministry. His cape typically features an embroidered 'spade' symbol etched into the fabric, which can be made of leather. In the ring, Darkspade sheds any subsequent attire and sports a black leather top featuring the spade symbol, which is sometimes prominently displayed, either dead center or in the back. Darkspade would have worn contrastingly dark grey or blood red tights and blended boots, featuring either the spade symbol or a symbol of the Unholy Ministry.

Entrance

SHOOT Project Entrance Circa 2026

The updated entrance features Darkspade methodically walking out with his long, gothic cape.

The same atmospheric effects are present, such as the 'cold dead aura.'

The music is different it is "Embers" by Breaking Benjamin. How this relates to Darkspade appears to connect

with the defined meaning of video, such as "loss, grief, addiction, and inner turmoil, presenting a balance between anger and hope."

Darkspade is the guardian of balance- he is the product of both light and dark, which is implicit in the music video. So this is the connection, along with an implicit assumption that his turmoil with killing his wife, Julie, and his connection to how he traveled into the SHOOT project through the 'wicked world.'

The music also breaks off into another Breaking Benjamin music the one used circa 2010-2025 , which highlights more of Darkspade's inner turmoil and grief, and how those aspects of his inner self affect the world around him , such as making the world colder (feeling his pain and anger).

Entrance circa 2010-2025

Darkspade's entrance begins with the lights abruptly cutting off, allowing the "eternal darkness" to overtake the arena, followed by a cold, dead aura permeating the atmosphere. The Tron is a depiction of past events that have plagued Darkspade many, many years ago. It starts by presenting his dead wife Julie and scenes of remorse and infers a steep decline in his mental state... The music is interchanging with "I Will Not Bow" as its first (or second) verse. The other theme music is Megadeth's "In My Darkest Hour," and in some variations, an eerie song from "Iridium." This kaleidoscope of alternating music represents his fragmented state of being - always in conflict with one another, yet harmonious in that it alludes to his erosion.

The entrance theme also has his voice reiterating several crpytic sayings such as "Bow down and pray...", "I am the taker of hope, the bringer of knightmares, I am the darkest hour", "the darkest hour it strikes three" and "There are those that call themselves creatures of the night, I however, embrase the darkness in a completely different light" (what refers to the creatures of the night back in the mid-1990s when the Undertaker used to refer to his fans as "Creatures of the Night"- since Darkspade is a COTN, but one which has treded a path of constant conflict of his moral values and viewpoints and even distain for other COTN- he believes he approaches the "darkness" differently in that he has embrased the Unholy Darkness- a cult, a power, that he obtained by accepting the teachers of his master Lord Mortisemere.

Moveset

Finisher: The Final Guidance

A modified pile driver in which The Darkspade positions his opponent's head between his legs- lifts them using a chicken-wing. While his opponent is lifted upside down, he typically runs and/or drops his legs outward to use his own weight to drill his opponent's back of the spine into the canvas, causing instant paralysis.

Signature: Gothicrusher

A devastating snap spear in which he lunges forward at the very last minute before impacting his opponent- mainly aimed at their chest.

Signature: BloodStrike DDT

A chickenwing DDT which delivers a sharp, sudden blow to the forehead and back of his opponents.

Signature: Missile of Doom

A high-flying, high-impact leap from the top rope, often to the outside of the ring, wherein he starts the move by performing the 'spade formation' with his hands.

Signature: Reverse (Inverse) Suplex

Darkspade loves to use an inverse suplex leading to his Finisher or a setup to his Gothicrusher.

Other Moves

Ace of Spades: A variation of the death-lock. Spade will lock his opponent's legs while they are on the canvas and face down. Bridging over- Spade will complete the move with a chicken-wing lock across his opponent's neck and arm.

"The Evil Intensity" (Ramped up hypertension leading to succession of moves without hesitation and ending in a Gothicrusher or Breaker)

Unholy-Elbow drop (calculated tip of elbow)
