History
|
Born off the white sands of the Garonne River and inheriting both of his parents’ beauty, gracious manners, and all around royal taste in everything cuisine, music, and sex, this magnificent young lad matured into that of a classicistic gentleman. More appropriately, this young prince developed into that of a fine king - a noble Frenchman that defined the majestic symbol with which the fleur-di-lis represented.
Embarking upon his quest for world wrestling dominance at an early age -- 18, to be precise -- his reputation, as both a savvy ring technician combined with the prowess and speed of a traditional high-flyer, grew more and more ostentatious with every opponent that fell before him. However, it wasn’t until his impressive victory against the three-hundred-fifty pound Turkish Monstrosity known as Gökhan The Great in the finals of the Super International Wrestling Grand Prix (S-IWGP) Cup did Jean-Gerard Baptiste truly carve out a piece of history for himself. In thirty-five minutes of absolute hell and sheer torture, a bloodied and battered Baptiste emerged from the flames a vanquisher of evil and righteous champion. It was an iconic moment of glory in the history of the Super-IWGP tournament, and from this, the name “International Icon” became synonymous with Jean-Gerard Baptiste. In an instant, Monsieur Baptiste, as you will all come to know and respect him as, was on top of the world and dipping his feet into an ocean of gold.
Soon after this, Monsieur Baptiste competed in various organizations across the world in countries such as Italy, Switzerland, Germany, South Africa, and Japan. Despite going against his better judgment, Monsieur Baptiste even wrestled briefly in the United States of America for Rob Belote and his Washington D.C. based LEGACY promotion. However, not long after Monsieur Baptiste made his grand debut in the company, Rob Belote sidelined him on an account of making him "pay his dues", ignoring the fact that he was more than capable of defeating any one of his top contenders within LEGACY.
Not long after Monsieur Baptiste's LEGACY departure, the International Icon decided to go back to Japan and prepare for his young career's next step... and it was then that rumors of a little promotion in Las Vegas called SHOOT Project, a promotion with much history in Japan, was making a triumphant return to the global tour scene. Realizing the potential to further his legacy as an International Icon, Monsieur Baptiste signed on the dotted line to compete in the 2011 Redemption Rumble in Mexico City.

Moveset
|
Baptiste is a technician at heart and will perform various slams and suplexes. While he plays dirty and will deliver a low blow, eye gouge, or back rakes whenever it suits his needs, he's still an accomplished technical wrestler and will utilize this against his opponents. Due to his height and the amount of air he gets from leaping off the top rope, he is an accomplished practitioner with basic high flying moves such as missile dropkicks, leg drops, and elbow drops.
