Personality
History

Henrik Goeren was born into a life of wealth and privilege.  His parents, Max and Anna, made their fortune in the manufacturing industry in East Germany.  Favorites of the communist elite, Goeren Enterprises specialized in silverware and cutlery that were exported all over the world.  Henrik's parents raised their young and only son well but were unfortunately killed in an automobile accident in 1991.

Henrik inherited a fortune after his parents' untimely passing but was clearly not the same after their deaths.  He began to find comfort in underground European fight clubs as a teenager which became an outlet for the young man.  He initially used his wealth to simply move from country to country, competing in the brutal fist fight circuit where he would refuse any victory money that he would earn.  His opponents began referring to him as "Azrael", the mythical angel of death.  During this aimless time in his life, Henrik met his future wife Evelyn who was working as a prostitute in Berlin.  Henrik brutally beat her abusive pimp to near death, freeing Evelyn from the torturous life she was forced into.  The two fell in love and married at a private ceremony in Vienna.

Encouraged by his new wife, Henrik sought to reclaim his parents' company in his own name.  He eventually worked his way into the inner circle of Goeren Enterprises until he was able to buy it back completely.  He then closed the manufacturing plants and rebranded it as an entertainment company, specializing in sleazy shocktainment.  He soon turned his sights to the United States, not only to broaden his business but to compete athletically in the wrestling ring for the first time.

Goeren signed with the UCWL and moved his base of operations to New York City.  He quickly won the United States and Heavyweight titles there.  Very soon after he won the United States championship, a mass exodus of wrestlers left the company to form the DIWF under Goeren's longtime nemesis, Deviant.  Goeren stayed in the UCWL for some time before that company folded and Goeren weaseled his way into part ownership of the DIWF.  He captured that company's United States Championship title in his first match with the company and throughout his tenure there would feud with stars such as Pestalance, Damien "The Maverick" Roy, Diablo and Deviant once again.  Eventually, the birth of his son pulled Goeren away from the wrestling world and sent him back to Germany.

His "retirement" would not last long as Craig Carson, an old ally in the DIWF, brought him into Outlaw Pro Wrestling as a way to solidify his power with Goeren's strong finiancial backing.  Azrael shocked the wrestling world by debuting with The Row, a group of sadists and psychopaths that included Carson, Azraith DeMitri, HantaKira and Dropkick Murphy.  The group violently held onto power in OPW and Azrael feuded Patrick Kidd, Greyson Blade and Cyrus O'Haire who was responsible for scaring Goeren's face in a violent Devious Cathedral match.  Henrik soon became paranoid about losing his power and pushed the violence to unmatched levels in the company before he was finally ousted from OPW.  Goeren returned to Germany once again, this time staying for years.

But he was always watching.

And waiting.

Soon...SHOOT came calling.  Having created a cult of personality around him, Azrael's dementia and self-glorification have spun out of control in his quest to seize the ownership of the SHOOT Project.

Moveset

Goeren will usually wrestle defensively, taking out a body part early.  He'll try and get a submission quickly after that and end the match fast.

Aside from that strategy, he uses a variety of chops, high knees, bicycle kicks, leg sweeps, European uppercuts, reverse bulldogs, STO and facebreaker DDTs.

His favorite submissions (aside from those listed below) are hammerlocks and Indian deathlocks.

The Iron Cross - A figure four around the ring post, can only be used in no DQ matches.

The Officially Licensed Azrael Goeren Cloverleaf - A Rivera cloverleaf wherein Goeren hooks the exposed ankle and leans back to apply pressure on it.

Finisher Blitzkrieg
Finisher Description

A swift and vicious buzzsaw side kick to the side of the skull while the opponent is kneeling.
